    This book is a retrospection of China’s reform and opening up over the last 30 years. It begins with a look back to the history of exploring of the theory of the socialist market economy. Subsequent sections address the reform and opening up from several different angles: the view of China’s economy, the changes in economic growth and the background against which this has been set, the governmental management system and its policies, the adjustment of the industrial structure, system reform in enterprises, the challenges of opening up, and the relationship between social development and public policy.
